A: During the first consultation I will assess how long I think the job will take and what it might involve and discuss either an hourly rate, or a flat fee for the whole project - whichever is more practical and cost effective for you.
Q: What is your hourly rate?
A: I will give a free consultation and if you select an hourly rate I will charge £25 per hour to carry out the work. If a half day will be required (four hours) the maximum flat fee is reduced to £80. If a full day is required (eight hours), the maximum flat fee is reduced to £160. I can negotiate rates to come to a satisfactory arrangement.
Q: What if the job takes longer than you first quote: A: I will constantly monitor and reassess my progress and if the job seems to be tougher or more detailed than expected and I think that I will not be able to finish in the suggested time, I will inform you at an early stage and we can discuss whether I complete the full task but taking longer, or if we can find alternative solutions to finish the project within time and budget.
Q: Is the project too small or big to tackle? A: I will give you an honest assessment of the job and if I think it will require skills or services I am not able to offer, I will give you suggestions for other suppliers, or discuss employing suppliers on your behalf.
A: If the project requires basic decorating (preparation, painting etc) I am happy to include this in the brief, after discussion about the additional time this might take and the costs incurred.
Q: Will I be involved in the decluttering process? A: Your level of involvement is up to you.We can work together during the process to decide what to keep and what can be disposed of. Alternatively I can get on with the job and create collections of things for you to decide to keep, recycle, donate or sell. I will never throw anything away without your approval, but I will always try to advise you as to what I think you might wish to get rid of!
Q: Do you bring your own cleaning products? A: I do have a few favourite cleaning essentials I prefer to use, and may suggest that you invest in some (which you can keep using when I have left!), but if you would like me to use things you already have, this is fine. If specialist cleaning products are required, the cost of these will be in addition to my rates.
A: Due to other commitments, I am currently able to take on projects on one weekday, in the evenings and at weekends. I can work very unobtrusively and will plan with you around your schedule.
Q: How far will you travel? A: I prefer to work locally (less time on the road and more time to get on with the project!). I will look at jobs in Oxford and approximately a thirty mile radius. For jobs further than ten miles from Oxford I will ask for payment of travel expenses.
